Unfortunately, you will have to accept that Quesada will never get a clue, and has not since he joined Valiant Comics (the now defunct Acclaim Comics) - for your information, this is over a good 16 years now.
That said, I sympathize with you about this and am able to offer some consolation - namely that all the bad ideas he's had in the past have been AT BEST short-term commercial success, or so bad that he's ended up being left crying (see AsH, among other books of his).
As a fan of Iron Man, I can give the example of a story creation of his own that is no longer regarded as in-continuity: the Sons of Yinsen - a religious cult founded on the ideals of both Ho Yinsen and the technology of Tony Stark (also the result of a badly planned and ridiculous retcon involving Ultron, of all things). A year and a half after their introduction and what happened to them? Disappeared without a trace. Hopefully for Spider-Fans, the same will be true of One More Day.
Well, it seems that the gang at FP and I were correct again! The plan originally included the resurrection of Gwen Stacey! Thankfully, Joe Q was lobbied enough by Marvel staffers that he didn't force it in that direction.

that the interview? read it earlier. Honestly, if CBR had any guts, their first question in the second part of the interview should have been what Quesada thinks of the fact that over 80% of their readers hates both the issues, the idea, the new status quo and so on...
I mean, even people who didn't like the marriage, hated the retcon, that's saying something...
Oh, yes, I could see the result, just couldn't vote. Hopefully Marvel staff will at least pause in their hatchetry to see those results. If not, maybe the next EiC...
