I should not be allowed anywhere near my computer while sick.

Just got an email (I think by accident) with some anti-Kerry kinda message. You know the kind that I'd normally delete just looking at the header, only this time I didn't, since I thought it was some kind of spam and I wanted to see what was hiding behind it.

Anyway, silly me, I read it.
Basic stuff, supposedly funny joke about a cruise for all Kerry supporters who claimed they'd leave the US if Bush won, bla bla bla...

And of course, being sick, and thus not right in the head, I responded.
(basically insulting the US as Bush wants it, yes, I'm bad, I'm also sick as hell and am suffering from anything going from headache, throatache, to painfull ears and possibly, though I haven't checked it yet, a low fever.)

Now to see if this is gonna end me up with loads and loads of spam, hate mail, or you know the old reasonable silence which is annoying as hell, when you just sent out a flame*g*

I don't feel qualified to comment since I'm not American but I will anyway, if only to say I'm a bit nervous about such a powerful figure being a homophobic reactionary and I wish you better!

Drink lots of water, take a couple of pain-killers and get a good laugh out of either the hate mail or the reasonable silence. Don't you just hate that? *g*

Thing is, I'm not American either.
But Bush quite basically scares me.
I'm worried as hell, that he'll start a third WW within the next four years if he's given the chance.

Not gonna happen, love. He's not bright and he has some dodgy advisers but wars are expensive and the Americans I know are opposed to it. They're not a minority or, if they are, they're a very vocal minority.

It won't happen. He has all sorts of ideas about the 'War on Terror' but sensible voices and budgetary restraints will triumph.

I really hope you're right, I really do, big problem is, Bush actually believes he hears the voice of God. (he's actually stated this)
He prefers listening to his 'gut' than actually listening to his advisers. Apparantly that's the reason that Powell is leaving.
And despite all that, he still got reelected.
There's a lot of intelligent Americans out there, but way too many of them are becoming religious fanatics as well, and those are scarier than anything else out there.

Don't worry. I think common sense will prevail. We know many Americans, Germans, even French people. ;)

There's nothing wrong with religion except when it becomes fanatical. It'll all even out. No point in believing otherwise.
