Sep. 9th, 2004 11:19 pmI've decided to finally go on and do it.
Yes nice people, at the ripe age of 27 I have finally decided to move out of my mother's place.
I'm going to live on my own. (sharing a house with two other women, to cut the costs, but still)
The cost is decent, heating and electricity included and it's close enough, so I won't have to make any major differences in my getting to work.
I'm most likely moving the 1st of October. I'm now planning to get boxes to load stuff up already, so I don't have to do everything at the last minute.
In case you hadn't noticed, I'm currently jumping up and down in excitement. (well not literally, since the floor would crack if I did that too often, but still, utterly exited)
The new house has three bedrooms, a potential livingroom for me and the other renter, one main living room, a nice kitchen, a big bathroom, a washingroom, a garden and even a dog and a cat.
Yani (the dog) seems very personable, once he gets over his shyness, so that's more than ok, and the cat is young and rather playfull, which is always fun.
So yes, I'm growing up. See me, all grown up and ready to move out. I'm happy. :-)

Date: 2004-09-09 04:54 pm (UTC)Even though I've been working for years, as long as I keep living with my mom, I'll always have this feeling of being just a kid. And well it's long time for me to get out of that.
I guess that's the scariest part, cause well, like you say, it's easy to have no real responsibilities. To be just the kid living in with her mother and know that it doesn't really matter if you're late with the rent, cause well... moms don't nag as bad as landlords do.
And even though I still won't live alone, it's different to live as an adult with other adults, than to still be at home.
For one thing, even though we'll have agreements, they'll be agreements we make amongst eachother and not just commands from my mom to do this or that.
It's just going to be weird.
Part of me envies you though. You've clearly got a guy who loves you, children, a life,... there's times that I wonder if I'll ever get that. Sure there's still time but...
I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence*g* (or however that saying goes)

Date: 2004-09-09 07:37 pm (UTC)When I first started living with other people who were not my family, I found that the hardest thing was working out chores. Me and my then roommates were all used to Mom either doing the work or ordering us to do it, and it was hard for all of us to make agreements about who would clean what when because we weren't used to talking about stuff like that. It was definitely a learning process.
It sounds like a really nice house. Go team you!

But hey, my dad promised to give me any kitchen appliances I might need for free.
He even offered to get me a microwave. (which Sofie already has, but still)
