Well here's a pairing I'd never thought I'd write

Connor isn't his father. Spike knows this, the boy doesn't hurt him after all. The boy isn't the father, he won't kick him when he's down. And all of his pain won't fade away when he sinks into the depth of those eyes. The boy isn't his father.

And what beauty does he have, if it isn't in pain. But the boy isn't the father and loves him anyway. He's not the father's lover, but the boy loves him regardless, and Spike like the fool he is, looks once more. The boy isn't his father, but he'll love him anyway.
