I actually signed up for that ficathon because I saw the post you made last month about it. I figured my assignment was almost guaranteed to require a lot of Spike and/or Angelus (unless I got a strictly Darla/Dru request), so how could I pass that up? I ended up with a Spike-heavy assignment, and I'm really eager to see how everyone's stories turn out.
