Spent some time at my sister's this week, got to see the kids, had fun with them, you know, the usual :-)

As part of that, Nele and I went to see Kingsman:the secret service together. Great movie btw, as political incorrect as it might be.

But that aside, there was this one moment in the movie. When the bad guy's weapon is working, and we see Eggsy's mom try to get through that door to get to and kill her own daughter, it kept me thinking of all the other kids who's parents didn't get some kind of warning to put their kids in safety. Or how the aftermath of that moment of rage would be...

I just really wish I knew how to find some fanfic that deals with that.

That part stuck with me as well. It's not something I can ever write fanfic for, either - and I usually go for the darker themes - because I really can't forgive the filmmakers for sliding something so AWFUL between the lines and then brushing it away in favour of what I have to admit is the best damn ever rendition of the 1812 Overture.

Ah, yeah. Gotta say, I still loved the film for those beautiful, beautiful explosions.

Then try and think of another horrible notion.
When Eggsy gets in the base, Charlie is there, because his parents were with Valentine. Now imagine how many of those other rich people had children, many of whom were probably too young to be at the party and whom they probably wanted to protect from the effects of those chips.

Makes me wonder if any of those innocent children had those special head explody chips implanted as well...
