Crossover prompting meme
Jan. 31st, 2013 09:58 pmhmmm, I think I need help.
Someone mentioned this in response to a post of mine this week and now it's been running through my head the past few days. The idea to start a multi fandom crossover prompting post.
The problem is, I'm just one person, and not particularly well known in most fandoms, so if I put it on my lj, I might get a few people responding, but I don't think it would get enough attention. (tried it with a Spidery prompt post a few years ago, but even though we got some prompts, there were few to no fills *pouts*)
So I was wondering, is there anyone who'd be interested in helping me create a com for crossover prompting?
It would work a bit like the kink meme's, only open for any genre, long as it involves a crossover of some kind. We could put up a list with fills per fandom, or just tag bookmarks in a delicious or pinboard account if the com gets popular enough to make it worth the effort.
What do you guys think? And if I did manage to start something like this up, is there anyone who'd want to help me promote it, since I'm only in a limited few fandoms.

But I have to say, I have no idea what a kink meme is - yeah, that's me, seven years into fandom and still innocent in some ways ... - but giving prompts to work with sounds interesting. I'm probably not the best person for this, I just started writing fanfics in English but I would definetely be interested in such a comm :)!

Date: 2013-02-01 12:13 am (UTC)Things to think of, do you want to open it to anything? Like Schwarzenegger getting beamed up to the Enterprise to fight Magneto. There's a lot of fandoms: video games, comics, sports, movies, TV, books, and real people. I'm sure I missed a few. There are many details to think about.
Do you want to set it up like the supernatural Kink mean where there are different focuses? Maybe a rotation of different themes? Do you want it to be kink focused?
Personally, I've only been involved with a few different fandoms and most of them little activity at this time.
I wouldn't mind getting involved in the background to help set things up. However do to real life I don't know how active I can be with running things once it is up.

Date: 2013-02-01 03:54 am (UTC)I'm thinking it'd be more fair to keep it open to all fandoms, but then again, it might get hard for people to find fandoms they're actually willing to fill for, and it might become too big...
Another option is making it spn crossovers, but then I'd miss out on asking for a Dexter/Criminal Minds crossover*eg*
And if I limited it to tv shows and movie crossovers, then you'd also be limiting people who might be interested in comic books that haven't been turned into movis yet.
