Need help for a NCIS/X-men fic.

Desperately in need of help of someone who likes both X-men and NCIS.

Esp. NCIS. I'm trying to write a crossover, but I've only seen a few eps of NCIS. (unfortuntely of my options in the exchange that pairing is the only one that really interested me.

Anyway, I'm trying to write a sort of meeting between Abby Scutio and Scott Summers. And my deadline is really close as in today.

I desperately need to talk to an NCIS fan, and then someone to beta. It's short, will probably be barely 1500 words.

Though I need to know if I'm getting Abby right, so anyone out there willing to help out?

And yes, I do know I shouldn't be trying to write for  a show of which I haven't seen more than a few eps.

well that and one basic fact, before I need to drop what I've got.

Does Abby go on cases with them? And if she does, would they go to a bar together, or let her go alone?

Well erase is a big word, but if she doesn't, I need to set the story in Washington.

Abby is mostly in her lab, but I believe she has done some field work on some occasions. I don't think it would be out of the question for her to go to a bar with the NCIS team members, especially McGee. Gibbs is the only one I don't think would go, but he might. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that they would all go together. If they're on a case, I'm not sure if Gibbs would let Abby go off on her own; he's protective, but that's not to say that Abby wouldn't go on her on against his orders if she had a reason to. Now, if it's just Abby going to a bar, it wouldn't be out of the question that she'd go by herself.

Good, I'm having Scott working as a bartender, and I figured if Abby was with the team, he could overhear them talking about the case they're working on.
(aka a marine who was murdered when his mutation manifested)

Don't see Abby talking about the case with a stranger, so having the team, or at least some members of the team there would make it more likely. Right?

I have been watching the first eight or so eps of NCIS in the past few hours, unfortunately, there's not much Abby in them. They do get me interested in Kate, which is not a bad thing, since the requester actually mentioned her in their request*g*

Definitely. Not to give too many spoilers away about later seasons (unless you want them), but Abby is very, very careful about who she tells information to.

Would she ever interrogate someone if she thought he knew more about the case? Or should I just have Kate do that part?

I'm having her guess that he's a mutant, because he's the only one in the area who actually seems to care that the marine was murdered. Though I'm thinking I need to change that part. Maybe give her more hints than just that he cares and the look of him wearing glasses indoors.

Kate should do the interrogating. Abby is usually never around the suspects, but if she's on a field assignment with the group it could make sense that she was there while the interrogating was going on. I could definitely see Abby guessing that he was a mutant. She's into the less normal things in the world... Also, she has a stuffed hippo named Bert that makes farting noises when she hugs it. I'm just throwing that out there. XD

Hmm, I could have Abby next to Kate as she's pretending to nicely ask him some questions, and then come out with the mutant question, which Scott of course would deny, since well the last mutant in the area got murdered over it.*g*

I want at least one scene later on where Scott shows his powers to Abby, by shooting a hole through a coin. (comic Scott is capable of it, so movieverse Scott should be too. ;-) )

Just lucky I got an extension till sunday, cause I need to head to bed now...

But is it ok, if I send you the somewhat altered version tomorrow morning?

just happy that I've seen at least some eps. I'll be placing the fic in s1 out of necessity, but at least I've seen more than two eps now.

I must admit that after reading all those NCIS crossovers, I expected Gibbs to be older ;-)

Gibbs is awesome. XD I heart him, and Abby too! Gibbs, Abby, McGee, and Duckie (and Palmer) are my favourite characters.

Unfortunately the requester put Gibbs up as the character they didn't want the story to focus on. The exchange allows you to name up to three chars people don't want the fic to be focused on. So I can't use him too much.

Seems like it would be hard to do an NCIS story without Gibbs... but Kate was always an effective leader, so it's good that the requester doesn't mind her being there. Tony also can be a good team leader when he wants. Kate and Abby got to have a pretty good rapport.

well it's only a character piece and I must admit, it's mostly focused on Scott. But I guess it's a bit like with me and Smallville crossovers, where it's so common to see a focus on Chloe that when I gave a prompt for one, I specifically asked for a story that didn't focus on her for a change*g*

Anyway, it's mostly focusing on Scott, cause I actually know him better, but I hope that what there is of Abby and Kate looks right.
