I have a silly habit of getting annoyed when I'm tired. And I really should be finishing up my reverse bang fic anyway, instead of thinking about anything else.
(but no work tomorrow, so I should be able to write, right?)

Anyway, I've been waiting to ask for 706 fics on [livejournal.com profile] spnstoryfinders, but I figured I'd give people at least a week to write them, right.

And then five minutes ago, I noticed that someone mentioned a 706 comment prompt meme, which instantly had me going Yay!
(what, I was hoping for fic?)

Only when I found the page with the meme, turns out it isn't a general 706 meme, no, it's a reunification meme.

And I just.... I felt so totally utterly disappointed, like you can't believe.

Now I know, everyone is interested in different stuff *pouts*

But the whole reason I was excited about 706, was seeing the feds back after the Winchesters. And then when the ep ended with them declared dead again, I was so horribly well... disappointed with that ending. It's not that I don't get why the show doesn't want them recognized at any town they stop at, but come on, if you put them as nr two on the FBI's most wanted list, and have them make videos that probably went viral on Youtube, then you can't really expect me to believe that nobody's going to recognize them, esp. in the first few weeks after it happened. Right?

I mean, if you're going to do a comment prompt meme about that ep, wouldn't it be more interested to do one about the feds coming back after our boys. And the Winchesters attempts to evade the law? Or maybe outside pov's on people seeing them and being scared as hell. (and preferably not from characters who already know the boys)

I guess I had the same regret after 701, that there were so few if any outside pov fics that focused on the general world's reactions to Castiel's actions...

It's like people keep wanting to write fic about the emotional stuff, instead of about the meat of the episode.

I mean, emotional stuff is all cool and well, but I want to see plot, outside pov, you know things other than whether or not the main characters care about one another, which we all know they do.

Maybe I'm just asking for too much?

Anyway, if I did a 706 general hunted by the cops prompt meme, would anyone want to take part?

Yes, I think think authorities against the boys is one of my favorite things, and outside POV is the other, and there just isn't enough of it. I like the emotional stuff too, but why can't it include somebody in jail being interrogated, or people going Holy Crap, it's the Winchesters!

Anyway, if you do the meme, I would certainly read it (sorry, I don't write, only read :( )!

Whaaaaat?

Heh. But yeah, people want the warm fuzzies. For some reason. It's like cotton candy. Fluffy and pink and it'll rot your teeth, but people crave it.

There needs to be a LEOs meme. That'd be swell.

Well...I totally get where you're coming from, because I miss Victor Henriksen like a mad thing, and it would be awesomely cool to have both the Feds *and* the Leviathans chasing after the boys. I wouldn't argue with a storyline like that at all.

But if you look at a RL slant on it...I have no clue whatsoever who's on the FBI's Most Wanted List. I haven't gone looking for videos on YouTube of people who've gone postal and shot up various places, so if one of the guilty parties showed up in line next to me at the Walmart, I wouldn't recognize them. I think it's absolutely possible to hide in plain sight, unless your face is given 100% blanket coverage in the media, like O.J. Simpson.

So if Sam and Dean are out walking around, do I think it's conceivable that NO ONE would recognize them? Probably not. But do I think they'd have a good chance of avoiding notice if they kept a low profile, particularly after some time has passed (and by that I mean, a week or two)? Sure. People's memories, and interest in a subject, are amazingly short.

Plus, we're talking fiction here, not real life. If I want totally realistic real life, I watch the news. So, my point of view is, fic has to be realistic and believable up to a point. I mean, come on, Leviathans aren't real, are they? And wouldn't people notice the bloody death count of patients in a hospital all of a sudden spikes like you wouldn't believe....? :) Just saying, as long as it's part of the magic of CW...

lololol yeah, I did notice it didn't really interest you, that's why I felt kinda bad about asking in the first place ):! But thank you so much for going out of your way to look it up for me, you're very sweet :)!
I'm also very interested in your idea! Sadly, I'm not a writer but I'd love to read what comes out of it, so I'll keep an eye on that post you made in hoodie-time ;)
again, thank you so much!
