It celebrates the day that Leopold I was sworn in as the first King of Belgians.
And don't remind me, that whole nagging about splitting the country... Belgium is small enough as it is, without making it even more insignificant by tearing it apart.
You got a lot of annoying morons wasting tax money and time (that they should be spending on getting the economy back on track) into federalizing the country because currently Flandres a bit wealthier than Wallonie. There's a lot of historic crap involved with it. But Long story short, they think Wallonie is taking advantage of Flandres. Personally I'm of the opinion that they should stop wasting time on it, see the country per province, instead of language barriers and work together... but then idiots'll be idiots so...
