Obama in Amazing Spider-Man

I'm thinking that Quesada is getting desperate.

Sure Obama's inauguration is an incredibly important thing and in fact, I'd really like to see a Captain America issue dealing with the inauguration. But...

Just thinking though what it says about the sales figures of ASM, if they have to keep adding on variants (like this one with Obama on the cover) or doing stunts like putting in a five page story with Obama just to move the numbers up and get some attention in the media.

Marvel is suckkking lately.

Right now it feels like the only Marvel books worth their money, are the ones that are selling the least. I still can't understand how the Secret Invasion mini could have sold as well as it did.

Yeah, I agree. I cannot remember a time when Marvel was this bad.

Well they came close during the time that Byrne was writing ASM. When he got rid of MJ. But even then, Peter still felt like Peter. But overall, there's never been a time like now, when over half the comics at Marvel just don't appeal to me anymore.

God, when I'm actually preferring zombie Spider-Man to the regular universe variety, then something is seriously wrong.

I think they may just be tickled that Obama has admitted being a fan who reads and collects their comics.

Considering how the sales have been dropping on Amazing since Quesada ruined Spider-Man, I wouldn't be too sure of that.

Don't know if you know the crap he's done to the character, but he's basically done the equivalent of taking s7 Spike and turning him into a one note red shirt vampire.

By now the char's so unreadable that he's already lost over half the readership of the book.
