If they wanted to play with a bachelor Peter, why not do a separate title, like All Star Superman?
I'm hoping for your sake this is just a temporary storyline that's gotten too much publicity, like The Death of Superman. It's unlikely that Mephisto would win in the long run.
I don't read Spider-Man, but now I'm pissed off. "It's just a story" he says at the end. Right, well it's a story that enraged a lot of long time fans. I get so pissed when Marvel pulls stupid stunts like this. Basically, he pulled a shitty storyline out of his ass so that he could write the character he wants to write. Nice.
