Sims 3: Supernatural
Jul. 5th, 2012 02:00 pmIt seems that the new Sims expansion pack is going to include more supernatural creatures.
What makes this relevant to me, is that one of those creatures will be zombies :-)
Zombies who can infect other sims through biting them;-)
Now how much fun would it be, to create a new world in sims, and fill it with zombies, with only a few humans (aka versions of the cast of TWD) left to try and survive and not get bitten amongst them :-) )
My only regret is that the game won't allow for baby or toddler zombies, but still zombies :-)

(I must say that the other one I'm really excited about is the fairies. (well not for the sake of fairies really, but because those wings looked awesome enough that I think it'd be cool to create a Castiel and give him black wings)

The one thing I'm really really waiting for though, is for them to finally add some new long coats and/or trenchcoats to the game. They used to have them in sims 1 and 2, but in 3 the decent ones are only for female sims, and the only ones available for male sims are the steampunk ones.

If I were in charge of this thing it'd be way more science-fictiony....eight genders and robots...

Date: 2012-07-05 12:46 pm (UTC)These days the best you can achieve is to reduce the sims breast size (which was a new thing in the last expansion), so you'd get a female sim with as small a pair of breasts as you could get them. Sims 3 also allows you to make a sim thinner, fatter, more or less muscled. (still no differences in height though, still waiting for that one so my Sam can finally be taller than Dean again.

Does the pregnant male need to be partnered with a male or can the other parent be female? *trying to figure out how this works*
Mpreg. Oy.

Date: 2012-07-05 12:57 pm (UTC)Sims allows relationships and marriages with no eye to gender, and if two males or two females want to adopt a kid they can do so as easily as a het couple could. (the only thing that takes some doing is to get a three- or moresome)
I think that the difference is that pregnancy is an added thing to the sims normal state, where a height difference would change the basic structure of the sim in question and would alter their interaction with the virtual world around them.

Date: 2012-07-05 01:01 pm (UTC)But I thought when you said mpreg that meant there was a mechanism for the dude to give birth. The aliens thing sounds more like a parasite--yowch. Does it like explode out of his chest/belly? Or does he eventually wind up with an apparently human child that then goes on to murder the entire family in their beds? (I'm spending way too much time thinking about this now. Stupid aliens.)
Meh, we can put a man on the moon but we can't have Sims of different heights? What's the world coming to?? (Okay, e can't put man on the moon anymore. Still. It's the principal of the thing.)

Date: 2012-07-05 01:06 pm (UTC)And the baby grows up normal? No tentacles? Who contributes the other half of the genetic material? Does the kid look anything like its parent? (Feel free not to answer that. Those are just the sorts of questions tathat ht naturally arise in my head.)

Date: 2012-07-05 01:11 pm (UTC)If you want a kid though, that's a mix of two males (or two females), then you have to create the kid at the start of your game, when you're creating your family, that way you can mix genetics, so the new sim has traits of both halves of a pairing. (but that removes the fun of getting the couple together in the first place)
