My biggest problem with it is that it doesn't work in all browsers, what with it being unicode instead of an actual image file. I've tested it on various browsers on my desktop, laptop, Kindle, and phone, and it doesn't work for several of them. All it shows is the error you get for incompatible unicode.
Me either. They're not particularly pretty but they make sense; took me about half a second to figure out their meaning. And it didn't break any previous functionality. I call that a definite win.
If you look at the comments on the lj news post that launched this you'll see I was the first to use the term "Scissorsgate," but I may possibly have been taking the piss on the inevitable "it's the end of Livejournal" comments that had already appeared.
It would be nice it it actually worked on all platforms - I get a little box instead of the scissors under windows, but the scissors on my Mac.
Meanwhile spoiler cuts look OK and work in comments, so are actually more useful , I'll probably start using them for some of the purposes I formerly used cuts.
