That's tough for JMS. I wonder if he had control over the whole thing, what would he have done differently. The 3rd issue of One More Day was a turning point because the first 2 issues, I liked. Having Mephisto there doesn't really bother me but what does, at least a little bit, is that Mary Jane wanted to hear him out after Peter told him where to shove his bargain.
Also, with anyone that is in charge, I don't really think it's the love of the character that propels them to do the things they do but what they themselves think should happen. 'Nuff said.
